Abortion
A High School girl goes up to her boyfriend and says, "You got me pregnant, but don't worry. I took care of it." A woman goes down on a guy, manages to save the sperm without his knowledge and impregnates herself without the guy's knowledge. Under the law, men have no say in either one of these circumstances. If a woman chooses to have the child, the man is required to supply support for the upbringing of said child. However, men are also required to sit back, shut up, and accept he has no rights over his own child. Hypothetically, lets say the woman didn't want the child, but the man did. There are procedures where the embryo can be taken from the original mother and transferred to another woman. Of course there is the risk that the child may not survive but as I see it, if the mother was going to abort the child anyway, why would she care about such a silly risk. On the other hand, if the woman wants the child and the man does not, the woman should, of course, still be allowed to have it. Now lets say a woman is on her way to the doctor to have an abortion. On her way there, she gets mugged, stabbed, and later finds out the baby died. The person that stabbed her can then be charged for murder. How is it that stabbing an unborn child is murder but abortion is not? We can not have two different sets of rules for such a thing. It is simply not logical. The biggest thing I fear from those advocating "Pro-Choice" is that people will use abortions as a form of birth control. If society does choose to become this advocate for "Pro-Life" we can not simply exclude any exceptions however. There must be a system set up for rape victims and for those who's lives are threatened if they were to give birth. In my opinion, though, both sides are hypocrites. Those that claim to be "Pro-Life" are usually those that are in favor of the death penalty also. That doesn't sound very "Pro-Life" to me. On the other hand, those who claim to be "Pro-Choice" forget that they already made their choice and that's how that got pregnant in the first place. I think we should, instead, call the groups "Pro-Life, When It Suits Us" and "Pro-Choice To Fix Our Other Choices."
